Alex is our featured bag for September - just in time to get you (or your kids) back to school.  Backpacks… so many kids refuse to carry one these days, even though it is better on their bodies.  Sometimes, though, they want to be able to have their hands free and not have to worry about keeping their messenger bag on their shoulder.  We have a solution!

Originally designed for my backpack-hating daughter, this is one bag that bridges the gap.  The strap is completely removable… and convertible.  Simply hook it to the two rings at the top for a sling-style messenger bag.  Want to carry it as a backpack instead?  Hook the ends of the strap to the bottom rings, and loop it through the center ring at the top - it’s just that easy.

There is a small clasp at the bottom of the fold-over flap to keep it closed, and pockets built in.  Ther is a zippered pocket inside, as well as a small pocket to hold pens, an ID card, an iPod, etc, and a pocket on the front - hidden under that flap - to hold other goodies.  We can also add pockets in other places if you need them.

The Alex is made from lighter-weight fabrics than our other messenger bags, but that just gives us more to choose from!  Take a look at some of our available fabrics, or we can make one from your favorite fabric - just email us for info.

Alex works great as a straight backpack too - without the convertible strap.  Just two backpack straps, and you are good to go.
